Operated For The Children Of Columbia By Captain Jose Arnoldo Alzate
38 Days - 29 Flight Segments - a 48,812 nm Circumnavigation Of The Globe Roundtrip From San Francisco

Below is Captain Alzate's Final Report Of His World Tour Flight

In a TV program, several children brought to Bogotá from poor and distant little towns were asked about their desires. To know the sea and visit many cities and countries were the most common answers.

One of the richest persons of Colombia decided to make these desires a reality. So, he rented the A320-210 from Global Express Airways to give the children a tour around the world.

Avianca, the main Airline of Colombia, offered to transport them to San Francisco where they would be picked up by Global Express Airways. Here the children visited the down town, the
Golden Gate Bridge and were given a little ride on boat in the San Francisco Bay. Global Express Airways picked up the children at the airport and took off for Honolulu on September 13th 2010 at 07:00 in the A320 piloted by Captain Arnoldo Alzate.

At Honolulu, in the afternoon, they enjoyed the beaches and watched directly the Pacific Ocean for the first time in their lives. Next day in the morning we took off for Tahiti and from
here to Auckland and then to Sydney. Here we had a rest and the children visited the city, the Sydney Harbor Bridge and went to the Aquarium in Darling Harbor.

In the early morning, on September 18th we departed for Darwin, then to Manila, Singapore, Bangkok and Delhi. Here, the children were taken to Accra and visited the Taj Mahal.

On the 24th of September, we took off for Tashkent and then to Moscow and London. In this city they visited Buckingham Palace, Tower of London and Big Ben.

From London we departed in the early morning of September 29 to Cairo in Egypt, visited the Pyramids and on the next day we flew to Dar Es Salaam and to Durban and Cape Town.

From here we flew to Kinshasa, Lagos and Tenerife in the Canaries Islands where the children visited Mount Teide and Barranco del Infierno.

From Tenerife we flew to Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Here, the children were taken to visit Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada and went to La Cabaña Restaurant where some had Churrasco and others Asado Argentino.

On October 14 we took off to Ushuaia, Santiago, La Paz, Lima and then to Bogota.

Here ended the tour for the children on October 19.

From Bogotá, the crew flew alone and, after a night in Mexico City, took off from MMMX to San Francisco to hand the airplane to GEA on October 21st 2010.

In total there were 29 legs, 108.2 hours of flight and 48,812 nm.
